Tony Bingham is a Construction Barrister, Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Mediator and
columnist for "Building" magazine.
He also lectures on construction litigation and arbitration and is a visiting lecturer
at Reading University, College of Estate Management for the Diploma in Arbitration.
He is also an assessor for the Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators.
His page in "Building" is in its
thirteenth year and his web site is updated weekly by us to include his latest articles.
The initial design was completed in early 1998 and we recommended
last year that a redesign was necessary to make the site quicker to
load, taking advantage of current techniques and browser technology
whilst still being compliant with earlier versions of browsers. We
suggested that a convenient changeover point would be the end of 2000. The
second version of the site is thus now up and running with all
articles from 2001 in the new format and all the earlier articles in
the earlier format - this kept the transition cost to an absolute
minimum and has the added benefit of demonstrating how technologies
change and the benefits of keeping up to date. We were careful to
use key features and 'signatures' from the older design to make the
change evolutionary rather than revolutionary. |
