December 2003

Gosh! We've been too busy to update this page with what's been happening (basically a lot of Client site updates).

In other news... As for the last two years, we decided not to send out our printed Wymondham Christmas cards again but instead to donate their cost to some beneficial use, so as last year chose East Anglia's Children's Hospices for their excellent work; just before Christmas, we delivered film DVDs and music CDs to their Quidenham hospice. We did, however, re-use our virtual card for Clients, as we haven't had any real snow yet this year.

September 2003

We are currently selling a set of premium domain names on behalf of Morris Associates who had registered them for a project.

The domain names are:

ConstructionSolicitors.com
ConstructionSolicitors.co.uk
Construction-Solicitors.com and
Construction-Solicitors.co.uk

As you can see, they cover a complete set of generic domain names and they are available for immediate transfer. If you are interested in acquiring them, please contact us.

August 2003

Over the weekend of 16/17 August (Spammers really like sending their stuff at weekends), they sent out another massive batch and, in common with many other Spammers' tactics, they used some faked e-mail addresses (usually on the recipient list too) for the Reply To address so that all the bounces and abuse messages would go to someone innocent.

They weren't from us: as we've said before we never send out unsolicited commercial e-mails.

July 2003

We've taken the web site for Women in Dentistry live: see it here.

The interim redesign for the Association for Project Management is now live as well.

June 2003

Another extremely busy month for us, with an interim redesign under way for the Association for Project Management, more updates to adjudication.co.uk with interim PDF versions of Court judgments on construction adjudication and the almost-completed web site for Women in Dentistry.

Domain Registry of America

We've received nine "Important Notice[s]" from these people suggesting we renew some domains with them (they're also trading as "Domain Registry of Europe"). This is the same company who were injuncted by Register.com in the US for their "Domain Registrar Slamming" tactics: see http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t269-s2128103,00.html  and http://www.whois.sc/news/2002-12/registry-america.html

A note to our Clients: don't forget that we will remind you when your domain names are due for renewal and will renew them on your behalf so as to have no break in service for your web site, e-mail, etc.

May 2003

So what's been going on this month? For starters, we are now happy to announce that we can offer our Clients Business-level ADSL connections with 20:1 contention ratio and multiple static IP addresses from only £49.95 per month (plus VAT and a small installation fee and subject to availability from BT). Pay annually and get one month free! Contact us to discuss your requirements.

There have been some massive updates to adjudication.co.uk with a whole load more Court judgments on construction adjudication.

Updates to a number of other Client sites continue, plus we've been busy designing some HTML e-mail "letterheadings" for Clients who want them.

We've also been trying out a dynamic web-site system for a Client with member registration and authorisation, upload areas and messaging forums. Still in its development stage, this looks good to us so far!

New Clients include Women in Dentistry and we'll be starting work on their site in a few days' time.

April 2003

Bless 'em! There's a bunch of Spammers calling themselves NetWizards and working out of Florida who regularly send out a load of their unsolicited requests offering Web Design, Flash, PHP, CGI, Data Base Development at $25 per hour. I reckon you might get what you pay for, but that's an aside. These e-mails suggest they've fallen on hard times - I just wish they'd go bust - and are 'signed' by Steve Warren. Other subject lines include "Outsource your web development".

Over the last weekend of April (when Spammers really like sending their stuff), they sent out another massive batch and, in common with many other Spammers' tactics, they used some faked e-mail addresses (usually on the recipient list too) for the Reply To address so that all the bounces and abuse messages would go to someone innocent.

They weren't from us, and we weren't the only ones affected: do a Google search on "Steve Warren" +NetWizards and you'll see some other reports.

For the avoidance of doubt, we never send out unsolicited commercial e-mails.

March 2003

As we suggested last month, we've now taken live an updated and improved web site for the Hersham Dental Practice.

Oops! How remiss of us: we forgot to mention that we took the Major Projects Adjudication Group's web site live towards the end of February. Its design is modular to allow the Group to increase the extent of the site without:

  1. waiting until all the content is prepared (every web site is always "Under Construction" after all...); and
  2. our having to redesign or amend the entire site each time an additional element is added.

February 2003

The online conveyancing quotation system for Barrett & Co.'s web site has now been taken live following a week's 'final warning' given by their web site co-ordinator.

Another account at 'staging' is the web site for Centrewire Limited, who produce access gates and stiles for the countryside. This Client is also a customer for the Sophos Anti-Virus software that we can supply for our customers.

We will also be working on updating and improving the web site for the Hersham Dental Practice having taken over the ongoing design and maintenance of this site.

January 2003

As we mentioned last year, we've been busy working on an online conveyancing quotation system for Barrett & Co.'s web site. Having taken it into soak testing just before Christmas 2002, we've spent a while incorporating enhancements into the system in terms of reporting which the Client added to their 'wishlist' as the system was extensively tested by their residential property department.
