And again!
We've been so busy working on our
Clients' sites, we've neglected our own - again!
Amongst the updates and new sites:
Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions
We've made further changes to
the Client's web site within the overall corporate branding
parameters set by the Client to match their traditional media
advertising. It now features a new menu system and a different client
hotel image each time the site is reloaded.
SightRightUK
The new web site for
SightRightUK has gone live now, featuring a very low cost online
shop for their products using PayPal but with multiple shipping cost
options (not found in the usual PayPal shipping options).
Kawasaki ZRX Owners Club
We have now moved the hosting of
the ZRX Owners Club web site from an ezboard Inc. message board to
a new hosted solution using
vBulletin software.
We have also deployed a summary of the Board for its home page, with
the content delivered to the browser being dependant upon the
registration status of the visitor.
In Other News...
...we mentioned last year a number of scams being operated that
appeared to require domain name registrants to use other firms'
services to renew them. Well, Nominet, the Internet registry for .uk
domain names, carried this news story:
"Peter Francis-Macrae found guilty, gets
six years
December 02 2005
Nominet UK, the .uk Internet domain name
registry, has given decisive evidence at the trial of Peter
Francis-Macrae, the man behind a series of domain name scams
reportedly worth £1.6 million. Francis-Macrae has been sentenced
to two years for fraudulent trading - which included his .uk
domain name scam - and a year for other related offences.
Francis-Macrae was charged with nine offences,
including fraudulent trading charges relating to the Domain
Registry Services scam in 2004, and a blackmail charge in
relation to threats he made to Nominet UK in November that year.
He was found guilty of these offences, plus others including
making threats to kill, in Peterborough Crown Court today.
Nominet UK's warning statements about the
Domain Registry Services scam alerted .uk domain name users to
the threat, and its initial civil litigation against Francis-Macrae
(based on infringement of Nominet UK's rights in its WHOIS
database) lead to large amounts of evidence being collected that
was used in the criminal case. Nominet UK representatives gave
extensive evidence in the criminal trial after 'denial of
service' blackmail threats were made to the organisation by
Francis-Macrae.
Edward Phillips, Nominet UK's Company
Solicitor, said: "I am very pleased with this result. When we
saw that the scam had spread to .uk domain names we took swift
and successful action in the civil courts to stop it. We also
offered help and assistance to the police to make sure that this
man was properly convicted".
June 2005
Long Time, No Update
Phew! We've been so busy working on our
Clients' sites, we've neglected our own!
Amongst the updates and new sites:
Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions
We've carried out a complete redesign of
the Client's web site within the overall corporate branding
parameters set by the Client to match their traditional media
advertising.
MotorcyclePrizes.com
The
MotorcyclePrizes.com web site is up and running with a number of
domain names all linking to different competitions within the same
overall web site.
The Motorcycle Folly
We have now taken over the design and hosting of
the Motorcycle Folly's web site. One of the main aspects of their
new site is their
Discussion Forum which uses the vBulletin Forum Software
we mentioned last year, so much so that
we've redesigned the general information areas to have a very similar
look and feel to the Discussion Forum.
The site also features a
Gallery of photos from their trackdays with the added function of
an eCard system that enables a logged-in member to send images as
virtual cards to their friends.
We've also integrated the two registration systems for the Forum
and the Gallery to use the same membership database therefore meaning
that registering to use one immediately registers the user to the
other as well.
Haverhill Association of Voluntary Organisations
Another new site we've recently taken live is a small site for
HAVO, written to be quick loading and accessible whilst still
being attractive to view.
SightRightUK
And finally for this month, a holding page for
SightRightUK whilst we await the main site copy and images,
featuring separate styles for screen and printing.
