What is Web Site Hosting?
Put very simply, it's the physical location of the files that make up a web site.
There's actually a lot more to it than that, but that's our headache, not yours!
If you instruct us to design and develop your web site, we will need to place it on a
server connected to the Internet so that visitors can gain access to it. There are
two options:
We can upload your web site to your server or to that of your Internet Service
Provider. This is not our preferred option, as it is more time consuming to liaise
with you and your ISP to gain access to the servers - we have less control.
Alternatively, we can host your site for you. This is our preferred option as we
have more control over the process, we can offer premium services without the premium and
because it's easier for us, it's cheaper for you.
What Would Be The Web Site's Address?
Your site's URL would be http://<yourname>.wduk.net or
http://<yourname>.wdclients.com unless you chose to take advantage of our Domain Name Registration
services or our Virtual Domain services.
What Does It Cost?
Included free within our site design pricing is up to 800MB of web space for the first
year. Additional web space is £100 per 200MB per year.
Bandwidth - the amount of traffic your site generates - up to 2GB per
month is also included free within our site design pricing for the first
year and is from £100 per year thereafter.
If you choose to take advantage of our reseller services for dial-up
Internet access from £100 per year, 800MB of web space and 2GB of
bandwidth per month is provided free of charge. Please call us on
